VERY RARE Original WWII German Heer (ARMY) Defense Leader Armband Certified. Nearly every military, civil, political and paramilitary organization in existence during the Third Reich used armbands. Armbands were worn on military and civilian uniforms and also on civilian clothes, from suit jackets to work clothing. They were used to denote membership in organizations, to indicate a specific role or function of the bearer, and as insignia of rank. Many organizations would change the design of their armbands over time, which added to the variety produced. These were manufactured in countless variations, ranging from simple printed bands to elaborately hand-embroidered pieces of the highest quality. Some Nazi armbands were worn by all members of large organizations and were made by the millions. Others were intended for use at a specific time and place and were unique. Many types were made in very limited numbers. Some bore metal insignia or special identifiers that indicated the wearerโs rank, unit affiliation, or nationality. Armbands were sometimes but not always marked with ink stamps by the issuing authorities. The Heer Defense Leader Armband is a very scarce and desirable pattern of a German Army armband. It features a Bevo machine woven German Army pattern eagle and swastika emblem, strikingly executed in black thread on a white background. This eagle is neatly zig-zag machine stitched to a white cotton band, which has machine sewn strips of blue rayon Tresse at the upper and lower edges. The armband is complete, and sewn together in the back, as it would have been issued. This Heer Defense Leader Armband shows some wear and age.ย This armband also shows typical and expected light age toning. Some light staining (see photos) This Heer Defense Leader Armband is a good, representative example of this desirable piece of military regalia. The U.S. Veteran who took it wrote “Kassel Germany” on the armband documenting where it was captured.ย Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler, or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic.
