SS Leader Heinrich Himmler’s Personally Owned Book From His Library Signed (Autographed) By Himmler Brought Hone As A War trophy By A U.S. Veteran. ย A very-good hardcover book on a quality coated stock in a dust jacket which has been repaired with a few pieces of “Scotch” tape. t Erste Ausgabe — first edition. In addition to his studies on the occurrence of the rat anti-dermatitis factor (vitamin B6) in fish and fish products (which studies are still cited), Dr. Gulbrand Oscar Johan Lunde (1901-1942) was more infamously a minister in the (Nazi) collaborationist government of Norwegian Vidkun Quisling, 1940-1942. Lunde and his wife Marie died when his car fell off the ferry dock at Vage on Oct. 26, 1942. The incident was ruled an accident at the time, but the 2012 biography by Arntsen and Harestad concludes the accident was staged by German occupiers who wanted to remove a bothersome minister. (It appears Lunde was unpopular with the Nazi overlords because he favored the more narrow concept of “Norse” — as opposed to a broader “Germanic” — racial superiority.) That Lunde would thus have been known to German SS Reichsfuhrer Heinrrich Himmler by early 1941 — when German police agencies were helping round up Jews in Norway, before the June invasion of Russia gave them bigger fish to fry — is unquestioned. This copy dated “25/26 J. 41” and signed “H. Himmler” in green pencil (as usual for Himmler’s books in his library) in the Reichsfuhrer’s distinctive and angular hand. (Please see photos.) Brought home from Germany by a returning G.I. in late 1945. Der ganze Text dieses Buches ist in deutscher Sprache. The text of this volume is entirely in the German language. Small erratum slip tipped in at beginning of the bibliography (Namen- und Literaturverzeichnis) at pg. 237. Totals 272 pp. Presumably unique association copy, from the collection of and signed by the man who almost certainly ordered the author’s death. Signed by Heinrich Himmler. ย in excellent condition (dust jacket does have a repair) . Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic.
