Original WWII German Railroad Eagle Taken By A U.S. Veteran Certified. This is a good condition totally genuine German World War Two railroad eagle used to attach to the front of locomotives and box cars during the reign of the Third Reich. It measures 24 inches across and 13 inches tall which is generally referred to as a 24-inch eagle and is one of the two standard sizes for eagles.ย (see photos). The reverse is marked in the center ofย the eagle withย the compound elements whichย reads; GAL-Mg-Si (Gal=Galvanized Aluminum, Mg=Magnesium, Si=Silicon) and asย well as the abbreviations RZA 5 = ย Zug Adler (Train Eagle 5), and BERL = Berlin. Do not get fooled by the many replicas being offered. This is a 100% Museum certified ORIGINAL Eagle that was taken by a U.S. Veteran. HAS AN OLD VETERAN TAG! This is a “one looker” as we say! THE HOLES ON THIS ONE WAS TO ATTACH TO THE TRAIN (IT DOESNT HAVE TREADED BOLTS) Some wear from use otherwise ย in good condition with minor storage wear one small hole on the right wing from when it was pried off the train (see photos).
