RARE OUTSTANDING LARGE LUFTWAFFE Pilots Wall Plaque Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. Third Reich Nazi Luftwaffe Pilot Badge Award Plaque, dated 1940. One of the nicest and most detailed we have seen. Etched marble with large badge attached. Measures 6.25 inches x 9.25 inches. This piece came out the one of the largest collections of Third Reich Eagles which was acquired over many years by a leading expert in the field.  This piece is VERY HEAVY and solid. Wall plaques were often given as prizes for competitions held at the rallies, and also as presentations to members of the political elite.  This is the early style Luftwaffe eagle and would date from about the late 1930’s.  This is a “one looker” as we say!
