Original WWII German Railroad Eagle Removed From A Train Car By A U.S. Veteran Certified. This is in good used condition totally genuine German World War Two railroad eagle used to attach to the front of locomotives and box cars during the reign of the Third Reich. It measures 36″ inches across and 13 inches tall which is the biggest of all the eagles! This was the type found on the engine of the locomotive (see last photo) The threaded mounting bolts marks remaining (see photos). The reverse is marked in the center of the eagle and as well as the early style maker mark. in good condition, still shows sharp details. The eagle is photographed next to a standard train eagle to show how dramatically bigger it is! Do not get fooled by the many replicas being offered. This is a 100% Museum certified ORIGINAL Eagle that was taken off a train engine by a U.S. Veteran. This is a “one looker” as we say! Some wear from use otherwise in good condition with minor storage wear and some slight loss to one of the bolts threading from being pulled off the train (see photos).
