Original WWII German Rail Road Eagle Removed From A Train Car By A U.S. Veteran Certified. This is an excellent condition totally genuine German World War Two railroad eagle used to attach to the front of locomotives and box cars during the reign of the Third Reich. It measures 24 inches across and 13 inches tall which is generally referred to as a 24-inch eagle and a standard size for eagles. The threaded mounting bolts marks remaining, and others were broken off when removed (see photos). the reverse maker is marked and in the wing of the eagle with the compound elements which reads; GAL-Mg-Si (Gal=Galvanized Aluminum, Mg=Magnesium, Si=Silicon) and as well as the abbreviations RZA 3 (Train Eagle 3), and BLN = Berlin. Do not get fooled by the many replicas being offered. This is a 100% Museum certified ORIGINAL Eagle that was taken off a train by a U.S. Veteran. IT IS A RARE GOLD VERSION! There are two schools of thought on the gold color some say they were painted by the Veteran, but we have seen too many of them to be that many Veterans that thought “gold would look better” Some collectors say these came off of Hitler or Goering’s train others still say this was some other specialty eagle. We included photo of the different gold ones in the train eagle book! This is a “one looker” as we say!
