Original 1930’s 1.5 x Lifesize Adolf Hitler Bust by Erich Hoffmann With Heavy Marble Base Certified.  Original bronze bust of Hitler by German sculptor Erich Hoffmann. The bust is large, about 1.5x life size and the first we have offered by Erich Hoffmann (VERY RARE). About 17 inches in total. The base hardware may have been replaced and possibly the base itself during the period. Hoffmann was born in 1910 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He served in the German Wehrmacht during the war and was serious wounded but survived his injuries. After the war he returned to Munich and worked as a freelance sculptor until he passed away in 1967. . The head is a bit loose on the base but surely could be tightened (we didn’t want to mess with it at all) but it sits fine on the base.  VERY HEAVY! A very nice-looking artifact. very fine.
