Original late 1930’s  Adolf Hitler Bust by Schmidt Hofer With Heavy Marble Base Certified. Adolf Hitler Bust by Schmidt Hofer. Nice example of a 1930’s produced Hitler bust by Schmidt-Hofer. Its life sized, measuring about 15” tall including the original base and weighs around 21 pounds. We placed a manque head next to it so you can see it’s life size. These wartime examples are typically made with alloy and painted with a metallic finish, as opposed to prewar busts made with solid bronze. difficult to find all original and complete alloy-made busts from this period since the metal is fragile and easily breaks away from the marble base. There is some flaking on the one side but it displays very well from the front. The head is a bit loose on the base but surely could be tightened (we didn’t want to mess with it at all) but it sits fine on the base.  VERY HEAVY! A very nice looking artifact. very fine.
