Original WWII German Mauser Relic Used On D-Day At Crisbecq Battery (Utah Beach) Normandy Certified. A standard K-98 German Mauser rifle, the main battle rifle of the German Army and SS in relic condition. This rifle was found at The German Crisbecq Battery behind Utah Beach in Normandy. The Crisbecq Battery was part of the Atlantic wall and held several large cannons. Crisbecq guns took out the USS Cory on D-Day. The Battery was a Kreigsmarine battery and had some Infantry support. The U.S. 4th Infantry division unsuccessfully tried to take the Battery after D-Day, eventually the U.S. 9th Division took the battery on June 11, 1944. There was a massive fight there and the Germans held out 5 days! The Case-mates and bunkers were eventually blown up by U.S. soldiers and many were sealed until the 1990’s when French historians excavated the bunkers and many relics were found including this rifle! This rifle was obtained by the Gettysburg Museum of History from the owner of Crisbecq Battery that is now a Museum. A real piece of D-Day history! If you ever wanted a true D-Day/Normandy rifle here is your chance! 100% Guaranteed to be authentic. Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic.
