Original WWII German Luftwaffe (Airforce) SIGNALS EM/NCO’S VISOR CAP. (Schirmmütze) Brought Home By A U.S. Soldier Certified. Nice quality, privately purchased, Luftwaffe blue/grey, wool/rayon blend construction flight EM/NCO’s visor cap features a black, horizontally ribbed, interwoven, mohair centerband, and golden brown wool waffenfarbe piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. The front center of the cap has an second pattern, (Circa 1936/1937-1945), silver washed, stamped alloy, Luftwaffe eagle clutching a canted, swastika in it’s talons. The front center of the centerband has a silver washed, stamped alloy, winged wreath with a black, silver and red painted national tri-color cockade. The cap has a black, patent leather chinstrap with two, black painted, vertically rectangular, metal, retaining clips and two, black painted, vertically oval, metal, sliding length adjustment buckles. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two, smooth, black painted sheet metal buttons. The cap has an extended, forward, black lacquered, ersatz cardstock visor. Interior of cap fully lined in rust/orange colored oilcloth. Celluloid sweat diamond is now gone. Lining has silver printed manufacturers logo and name, and size, “57”. NAMED INSIDE! Wide, tan leather sweatband with ventilation perforations to front section. Shows the expected period use and wear but overall nice condition. Excellent example. Nice untouched cap. Nice example showing the expected minor age and wear overall good condition. In good but used condition.
