SOLD

Original WWII German Kriegsmarine (Navy) Breast Eagle Brought Home By A U.S. Solider Certified. The Kriegsmarine adopted slightly modified version of the NSDAPโ€™s, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Workerโ€™s Party), national eagle for wear on the front of the headgear and the right breast of the uniform on March 24TH 1934. The Kriegsmarineโ€™s version of the national eagle was identical to the army version except for the coloration with the army utilizing silver, white and grey eagles while the Kriegsmarine utilized golden yellow eagles. Beginning in 1935 Kriegsmarine land-based personnel, primarily Coastal Artillery units, were issued field-grey uniforms that followed the fundamental designs of the army uniforms with minor variations. The breast eagles for the field-grey uniforms were basically the same as the standard breast eagles but were worked on different colored backgrounds. The early produced breast eagles were on a dark blue/green base while later production models were on a field-grey base. A machine woven breast eagle with out-stretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted, swastika in its talons, in golden yellow rayon threads on a woven, blue rayon base. The eagle is still on its original, blue, rayon and is in overall excellent, uniform removed condition. ย  Nice example un-issued with expected used U.S. Veteran bring-back condition. ย  Scarce in such good condition.
