Original WWII German VERY HEAVY DAF DESK AWARD. (Schmuckplatte) Certified.  The “Deutsche Arbeitsfront” (German Labour-front), originally founded in 1933, became an official NSDAP organization in October 1934. Its stated purpose was to educate the workers in industry and commerce in furtherance of the smooth and efficient operation of all labour in the Third Reich. It also controlled the KdF, “Kraft durch Freude” (Strength through Joy), organization which provided recreation for workers. However, DAF’s most important goal was to enforce the political stability of the large mass of work force. A cast plaque in the form of the DAF emblem; being a cut-out, mobile swastika within a fourteen-toothed cog, 10cm in diameter. Looks to have a nickel silver wash so probably something to do with the Exemplary Factory award. The original base is now missing. One of the classic artifacts from the third Reich in used condition. Typical light age toning plus wear during use. Nice example issued with expected storage wear.   Gettysburg Museum Certified (COA) provided. Rare 100% Guaranteed to be authentic.
