Original WWII German Colossal Hitler Youth DJ, “Deutsche Jungvolk” (German Youth), MASSIVE FLAG Brought Home By A U.S. Soldier Certified. The DJ, “Deutsche Jungvolk” (German Youth), originated in Vienna, Austria in 1929, and was eventually to become the young branch of the HJ; for boys from 10 to 14 years old. The “Sig” rune first became associated with the DJ on November 9th, 1929, the sixth anniversary of the failed Beer Hall Putsch, when the Gauleiter of Vienna presented them with their first official flag, consisting of a black field with a central, silver “Sig” rune. It was afterward adopted as the official emblem of the DJ. A DOUBLE SIDED multi-piece cotton construction flag, whose hoist edge is 60″  tall, ands its length is approximately 145″!!!!. To each face is sewn a 40″  tall “Sig” rune in white. We placed a helmet on the flag for a size reference. It has the original ropes to attach to a pole. This is the biggest DJ flag we have seen! It is in EXCELLENT CONSTION! with some minor storage wear. One of the classic Hitler Youth flags from the third Reich in used condition. Typical light age toning plus wear during use.
