The Wrangel has a rounded pommel with a large raised oak leaf at the center. The backstrap features oak leaves and acorns which extend out on to the grip tabs and “P” guard. The ferrule also has fine oak leaves and acorns. The reverse of the guard has a plain oval area to accept a monogram, while the obverse has an open-winged, “Art Deco” style eagle. The detailing remains outstanding throughout the bird and wreathed swastika. The grip is in good condition, tightly wrapped with twisted brass wires. The scabbard is straight throughout. The original paint is good, although some of it is missing from the chape. Overall the paint is about 85% intact. The 31 inch blade has high quality nickel plating and remains in good condition.
