WWII German Army (Heer) “Cutoff” Artillery  Cuff Set And Shoulder Board Set Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified.   The German army originally adopted a slightly modified version The old style service tunic was introduced for wear in the Reichswehr during the short lived Weimar era, and was replaced with the field blouse in the Third Reich.  Original early-period, cuff set with large piece of uniform cloth. Also from the same uniform the shoulder boards from the 112th Artillery Regiment (Army) People who have been to our museum and have viewed our collection know we have a large collection of “cutoffs”. We try to get them whenever we can. In most case “cutoffs” were taken from dead German soldiers as a WAR TROPHY. Cutting off  insignia was a U.S. Combat soldier’s trophy like a Native American’s scalping it showed your were there and you killed an enemy combatant.
