Original WWII Era German Lapel Pin Version Of the DRL Sports Badge In Bronze (Early Style and Later Style Set) Maker Marked Worn by SS, SA, and all branches, Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. Originally introduced in 1913 as the DRA badge, this was modified in 1933 to the DRL badge and again in 1937 with the addition of the swastika. The award was intended as an incentive for physical training and was issued to both males and females between 18 and 32 years old who met the required criteria for an eight-year period, or those between the ages of 32 to 40 who met the criteria over a twelve-month period.ย  ย A lapel pin version of the 1937 pattern, and the early style (two pins) die struck bronze award. The badge is in the form of a 17mm tall, vertical oval oak leaf wreath, with a mobile swastika and bow to its base, encompassing the stylized, cut-out letters, “DRL.ย  Complete with pin. ย  Good condition ย  with some storage age and expected issues scratch on the swastika.ย  ย 100% Guaranteed to be authentic Complete Museum documentation (COA) Provided.
