Original WWI German Combat Cross Of Honor 1914-1918 (Hindenburg Cross) With Ribbon Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. Instituted in July of 1934 by von Hindenburg (resulting in its erroneous designation as the “Hindenburg Cross”) to recognize service in WWI. It ranked beneath bravery awards but above other service and campaign awards. Die struck, magnetic sheet metal award with a bronze wash. The award is in the form of a cross Pattรฉ with a central circular motif featuring an embossed laurel leaf wreath encompassing the embossed dates, “1914-1918”, on a smooth background field. The cross has swords emanating upwards between its arms, indicating a combatant’s award. The cross has a plain reverse and the ribbon suspension loop and ring are both intact. Cross comes complete with a piece of original ribbon. Brought home by a U.S. Veteran as a war trophy. We have several and we will pick the best one for you. All in good condition with minor storage wear to the medal. Offering is for one (1) medal. An honest untouched U.S. Veteran bring back German medal. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic.
