Original RARE German SA (Brown shirts) Ground Röhm Presentation Dagger By  E. P. & S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. early SA EM Dagger is equipped with all nickel mounts. The crossguards are in excellent condition having a fine even patina. These guards have smooth surfaces with crisp edges and precise accent grooves. The grip is in good condition showing some usage. The SA runes button has good enamel. The grip eagle is the nickel type being the style with “beak which points upwards slightly”. The details to this bird are all there throughout his head, breast and wing feathering, talons, wreath and mobile swastika. The scabbard shell is straight throughout. This shell has some loss of the enamel (see photos) . This scabbard is in fair condition showing some scratches, chips and age.. The scabbard mounts are the nickel variety in overall good condition. The lower ball does have a dent  to the bottom (see photos) but no splitting. These mounts are retained by the original nickel screws and they are .  The blade of this example is still fairly bright but I have a feeling it has been buffed that way as there is no darkening left in the etch backgrounds of this SA motto. When the Rohm inscription was ground it was buffed and  cleaned fairly severely, this was during the grinding off of the Rohm inscription. The grind marks are very well buffed out but can still be seen and especially under magnification.  This blade still grades at about good. The reverse ricasso is etched with the  E. P. & S. (Ernst Pack & sohne ) logo which is now also almost gone from the grinding process .. The blade shoulders  meet well with the lower crossguard contours. When Ernst Rohm was executed after the “Night Of The Long Knives” his presentation daggers were ordered to have his name removed. Nice period used SA Dagger  captured by a U.S. Veteran and brought home as a war trophy. Nice used example showing the expected age and wear. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic Brought home by a solider as a trophy of war. A very desirable   an outstanding   example. Don’t miss this one!
