German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) NSKK Dagger Maker Marked Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. The blade is in OUTSTANDING condition. There are typical runner marks, and some spotting of graying. The original motto etching remains crisp and dark. The reverse of the blade is crisply marked with a the manufacturer F. & A. Helbig. brown wood grip on this NSKK dagger is very nice, with an attractive and very evident wood gaining, especially on the reverse. The crossguards are silver plated and show significant wear and age. As is usually the case, some of the plating has flaked away, revealing the base metal. The wooden grip has shrunk slightly with time, causing some small, normal gaps where the crossguard and pommel fittings contact the wood. The original, German eagle and the enameled SA runic button roundel, show some wear.  The scabbard has paint loss but nice black paint remains.  The tip was repaired a long time ago (see photos) A typical Veteran bringback that was not properly stored. We elected not to clean this up, the new owner could clean it. Nice period used SA Dagger captured by a U.S. Veteran and brought home as a war trophy.
