Original German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) DAF 1934 NATIONAL WORK PROGRAM MEETING BADGE. (Arbeits-Beschaffung Abzeichen) Certified. With the dissolution of all Free Trade Unions in Germany in May 1933 the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, (German Labor Front), was established to replace the unions and to educate the workers in industry and commerce for smooth and efficient operation of all labor in the Third Reich. In October 1934 the DAF was given official status as a sub-section of the NSDAP and in March 1936 it was recognized as an independent NSDAP affiliated association and granted control of its own monetary budget. Note: This was a donation badge for an early Nazi work program designed to foster the peasant handicrafts industry in the Wurttemberg district.  shield-shaped, stamped alloy badge, 3.5cm across its top and 4cm tall. The D.A.F. logo of a mobile swastika within a fourteen-toothed cog is the central image, above which is embossed “Arbeits-Beschaffung 28. 9.-14.10. 1934 Wttbg-Hohenz.” (Work-Procurement 28.September-14.October 1934 Wurttemberg-Hohenzollern). Following the contours of the badge to either side of its central image is “Reichs-Betr.-Gem.-Handel u. Handelwerk” (National-Industry [“Betrieb”] -Association [“Gemainschaft”] -Trade and Handwork). A horizontal pin-back device is soldered to its unmarked, hollow-back reverse.  One of the classic metal insignia from the third Reich in used condition.
