Hitler’s Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop’s Personal LARGE SERVING Silver Spoon Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. Extremely rare silver spoon with the National Eagle (very much like the Hitler pattern). The spoon has Von Ribbentrop’s personal (diplomatic pattern) Nazi eagle. It has the correct maker marks for this piece. The “Ribbentrop” or “Diplomatic” pattern is .925 silver (Hitler’s is .800) so this actually has a higher silver content. This would be used by Ribbentrop when entertaining diplomats and guests. THIS EXQUISITE PATTERN IS MORE RARE THAN HITLER SILVER THESE ARE THE FIRST SERVING PIECES HE HAVE SEEN! He would also wear this eagle crest on the lower sleeve of his uniforms in later years (see photos). von Ribbentrop was ambassador to England before the war then rose to the top of the Nazi hierarchy. He was tried, convicted, and hung for war crimes at the Nuremberg trials. This spoon was taken by a U.S. Soldier during WWII as “Loot” or “Trophy of War”.
