Dr. Joseph Goebbels Original Hand Signed (Autographed) BOOK SIGNED TO AND PERSONALLY OWNED BY RUDOLF HESS CERTIFIED BY THE GETTYSBURG MIUSEUM OF HISTORY. Dr. Joseph Goebbels (1897-1945) Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Gauleiter of Berlin and with Hitler from the earliest days, a master of manipulation of the masses who took his life and those of his family members in the last days of the war. His book: ‘Kampf um Berlin’ (‘Fight for Berlin’) (Munich: Franz Eher Nachf.), 1932. 287pp. 8vo., black boards. On the half title page Goebbels pens an inscription to Party secretary and Reichsminister, RUDOLF HESS, in full: ‘In cordial camaraderie, Dr. Goebbels 19.XII.31’. Hess’ last name is penciled in at the top right of the first flyleaf, possibly as a reminder to Goebbels for whom this particular book was to be inscribed, or less likely, was written by Hess himself. The top page edges are decorated in a silver finish. Slight bend to the spine at the top, else very good. This personal item has been carried down through the Hess family over the years and was purchased from a direct descendent of Rudolf Hess. The book was officially available in 1932 and Goebbels gifted this book to Hess in late December of 1931, meaning that Hess was one of the first who owned a copy of Goebbels’ book. Signed by Dr. Goebbels To Hess a very good dark fountain ink signature. Complete museum documentation (COA) Provided. Certified by The Gettysburg Museum of History. The Gettysburg Museum of History does not support or condone Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party and is only offering this as a historic relic.
