On July 2nd 1863 when fighting erupted this area was where General Barksdale’s Mississippians clashed with Sickles’ third corps. The bullet was recovered at the Trostle Farm on the Gettysburg battlefield near where the tree stood. The painting in this display depicts the brutal fighting that took place in this area on July 2nd 1863.  Framed in a collector’s glass case (Riker Case) with museum mat and art.
