Original Civil War Remington .36 Caliber Navy Revolver (Antique Pistol) Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. Remington “New Model Navy” Revolver. This excellent, sidearm is an original .36 caliber handgun equipped with a 6-shot cylinder matched to an 8โ long octagonal barrel. Grips are original, two-piece walnut in good condition. This revolver has been nickel platedย on the frame, cylinder, loading lever and barrel. Right side of barrel near muzzle has some holster wear to the finish, but remains smooth. Bore retains good sharp rifling. Sidearm features a brass (now nickel plated) trigger guard, steel backstrap, and the low hammer spurย Barrel marking is very difficult to read, โPATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. / NEW MODEL. “mostly unreadable see photo.ย Mechanics are in order but must point out itย fires on “half cock” a simple adjustment should fix this.
