Exquisite Civil War Cased Ambrotype sixth plate Photograph Of A Union Infantry Soldier With Rifle Certified. The image was produced on clear glass and backed with black lacquer. A couple minor chips have flaked off but the lacquer remains intact with the exception of those minor chips. This image comes housed in a great gutta percha union case that is in good shape. The hinges are in perfect working order.   The case will close shut. The burgundy velvet cushion is imprinted with a diamond shaped design and is intact. The brass mat, keeper and glass are all intact as well. The Soldier is armed with a rifled musket and has a cartridge box and U.S. belt with a 4 button sack coat and forage cap.
