Authentic Civil War Excavated Relic “Puppy Paw” Style U.S. belt Plate (Buckle) Recovered on The North Anna battlefield in Virginia. North Anna is between Fredericksburg and Richmond and was a hotbed of Combat action part of Grant’s Overland campaign. A great dug plate For the collector who wants an authentic battlefield ground dug relic. A very nice brown patina. A solid plate from a very historical battlefield. This is an older recovered U.S. belt plate. Belt buckles are 4x more rare than cartridge box plates. Puppy paw style is earlier and even more rare! When we went through old collections like this there are about 3 box plates for every 1 belt plate. A very historic recovery location and a very nice looking plate. Recovered Pre-National Park and is 100% Legal and 100% authentic. All of the three hooks are present and it looks great, in excellent relic condition. This is one of the better early pick-up belt buckles from an old collection. US buckles this nice are very difficult to find and only come from old collections.
