‘American pickers’s features Gettysburg museum

Erik L. Dorr, owner of The Gettysburg Museum of History, has thousands of artifacts on display. He has stories about how he has acquired many of the unique items and one of those stories will be aired on national television this evening.

Mike Wolfe and Frank Frantz, hosts of the History Channel’s “American Pickers,” visited Dorr in November to help him acquire some Civil War relics.

American Pickers” is a television show on The History Channel whose stars, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, are usually found visiting off-the-beaten-track junkyards seeking unusual “treasures.” But this Wednesday’s episode will be somewhat different and close to home for local audiences.

To coincide with the History Channel’s weeklong event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz visited the area to find Civil War artifacts for the Gettysburg Museum of History.
