Original WWII German Combat Used M34 Army (Heer) Overseas Cap Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran. Field-grey wool/rayon blend construction cap with fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides. The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle with out-stretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted swastika in itโ€™s talons, in pale, mouse grey rayon threads, mounted on a cut-out, woven dark blue/green rayon base. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven national tri-color cockade, in black, white and red rayon threads, mounted on a woven, dark blue/green rayon, diamond shaped base. Both the eagle and the cockade are restored to the cap. The soutache was removed as per the 1942 regulation. The interior of the cap is fully lined in ribbed, grey cotton/rayon blend material. The lining is well marked and dated 1941 size 56. Salty, worn and used example. Nice period combat worn and used cap captured by a U.S. Veteran and brought home as a war trophy.
