Original WWII BLOOD STAINED JAPANESE PILOT’S FLOTATION FLAG Certified RARE!

SOLD

Original  WWII BLOOD STAINED JAPANESE PILOT’S FLOTATION FLAG Certified RARE!  74cm x 100cm, fine white silk flag with a 60cm diameter red “Himaru” printed to its center. Short, white cotton tie-cords are to two of its corners, and a tunnel loop runs along all of its sides, within which are evenly distributed sections of buoyant kapok (the same material used in their life-jackets). We placed a helmet on the flag for a size reference. Several small picks to the material, and some serious blood stains. Of Note: Used as a marker for downed airmen, these light weight, thin silk flags required almost no space to store, and were normally carried in the special pocket found to the lower right front panel of most life-jackets. This was most likely taken from a shot down Japanese pilot or aircrew member. Rare.  100% Guaranteed to be authentic and is certified by The Gettysburg Museum Of History and comes with our Museum COA (certificate of authenticity). A rare piece of WWII history. DO NOT MISS THIS! One of the  ones bloodier ones we have seen, excellent, Very Salty! If you like them bloody this is the one! FLOAT FLAGS ARE RARE!!!!
