Amazing Original WWII German M-35 Wood Chip Camo Luftwaffe Double Decal Helmet Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History. The helmet retains about 85% of its heavy, field-applied, wood chip camouflage paint in shade of green-tans,   with spots of the original Luftwaffe blue/grey paint just visible and some wear to the base metal. The second pattern Luftwaffe eagle decal is just partially visible beneath the camouflage paint. The national tri-color shield decal is painted over and not   visible beneath the camouflage paint. All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are intact. The age and usage darkened tan M31 leather liner shows chafe wear to the edges and has numerous light surface wear. It looks stiff but it is very soft and flexible and   all the fingers are intact. The interior of the helmet has also has remnant   green paint hand applied and some light pitting. The reverse interior neck guard apron   serial/lot number, is not visable”. The interior left side apron has stamped manufacturers code and size, “NS64”, indicating manufacture by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke factory in the Germany city of Schwerte , size 64. This helmet is what collectors call a “One Looker” meaning it needs no scrutiny or closer looks to establish it’s authenticity. It was recently found by one of our “pickers” so it is fresh to the market!
