Original Civil War Period ANTIQUE FACTORY ENGRAVED MANHATTAN .22 CAL POCKET REVOLVER Certified. Antique Factory Engraved Manhattan Arms .22 Cal. Pocket Revolver. The revolver has a brass frame with a “spur” trigger and flat bottom grips made of a very fine Walnut. There is a central protrusion under the barrel that serves to knock out any stubborn empty cartridge shells. The cylinder scene on this revolver features settlers and Native Americans in a desperate fight. The white man is actually shooting the Indian, AMAZING! Cylinder scenes served multiple purposes at this time, primarily to make a gun difficult to forge. Features a tip up barrel revealing a SEVEN shot .22 caliber cylinder, varnished walnut grips. Top of barrel is marked: “MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MF’G. CO. NEW YORK” The bottom of the barrel is stamped. “PATENTED DEC. 27″ 1859” Caliber/ Gauge: .22 Working Order: This pistol is in overall good condition with minor signs of wear commensurate with age. The action is strong and crisp. The cylinder scene is intact. Fancy grain grips are in very good condition with a smooth finish. A classic Civil War period pistol and A choice functioning display gun. A favorite of both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War. Many Civil War soldiers carried private purchase “back up” weapons as illustrated in the photos. This gun is 100% guaranteed to be authentic. A fantastic functioning display piece.
