Original Civil War Hotchkiss 3-Inch Shell (Inert) Classic Artillery Shell Certified By The Gettysburg Museum Of History.  A 3″ shell (nose portion only) that has been completely dis-armed (inert) no gun powder! This shell is 100% safe! It was cleaned using the electrolysis process to remove active rust. a battlefield excavated Union field artillery Hotchkiss pattern 3″ artillery shell as purchased by the Federal Ordnance Department. In relic condition recovered at Fredericksburg, Virginia. The base cup and lead sabot is gone but the nose is complete.   It has been disarmed (powder removed). This shell is 100% Legal and 100% authentic.
