Original WWII Japanese NATIONAL FLAG WITH SEA BEE KANJI And Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Most Japanese troops during the second world war carried a personal flag. They had practical as well as patriotic uses, such as marking positions to keep them safe from friendly aircraft while advancing. One piece example is 28cm x 38cm. An approximately 12cm diameter red โHimaruโ is sewn to the center of the flagโs white field. Handwritten, in black, around the Himaru are numerous kanji characters. The Kanji might be a โSea Beeโ flag meaning it was added to sell to soldiers. A very interesting flag. Shows the expected age and use.
