Outstanding German NS-RKB CAP VISOR Cap. (Schirmmützen Abzeichen) Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. The DRKB, “Deutscher Reichs-Krieger-Bund” (German National-veterans’-association), was formed during WWI, and based on the DKB, “Deutscher Krieger-Bund,” originally formed in the 1870s. By 1936 it had incorporated most of the varied veterans’ associations into it, and was itself re-named the NS-RKB, “Nationalsozialistische Reichskriegerbund” (National-socialist State-veterans’-organization), in 1938. Deep navy blue wool construction visor cap. The cap features a one-piece circular crown, a body with seams to each of its cardinal points, a one-piece center band whose vertical seam is to the reverse, and a blackened leather visor. With gilt washed, stamped alloy, oak-leaf wreath encompassing a third pattern DRKB insignia. And Cap Eagle. The black rayon center band features alternating, machine embroidered swastika and DRKB insignia pattern. Fixed by the black painted buttons positioned over each ear is a NCO chincord. The visor has blackened canvas reinforcing stitched along its edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in mid-blue ribbed rayon, and features a tan leather sweatband. A clear, celluloid sweat diamond is sewn to the interior crown. DRKB tag inside the sweatband. The cap is in overall very nice condition with some moth nips (see pics) . Roughly a size 55-56.
