VERY RARE Original German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) DLV VISOR CAP INSIGNIA. (Mützenabzeichen) Certified. The DLV, “Deutscher Luftsport Verband” (German Air-sport Association), was established by forcibly, although legally, incorporating all civilian flying clubs, as well as the flying units of the SA and SS, into it in 1933. After 1935, when the secrecy regarding aerial re-armament was lifted, it served mostly as an Air force reserve and training ground for future members of the Luftwaffe. It was itself incorporated into the NSFK, “Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps” (National-socialist Flying-corps), in 1937. A Type “A” insignia, worn to the front of the visor cap band, in the form of a black enamel mobile swastika against an upright, silver propeller, to either side which extend three-tiered silver wings, with a span of 70mm, all against a red enamel ring. To the reverse of each wing is a prong for attaching to the cap. Nicely maker marked. Scarce issued example that shows the expected age, wear and use. In good but used condition.
