Original WWII Japanese NATIONAL FLAG WITH KANJI GROUPING Brought Home From Okinawa By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Most Japanese troops during the second world war carried a personal flag. They had practical as well as patriotic uses, such as marking positions to keep them safe from friendly aircraft while advancing. One piece example is 18cm x 28cm. An approximately 8cm diameter red “Himaru” is sewn to the center of the flag’s white field. Handwritten, in black, around the Himaru are numerous kanji characters.  The Kanji is somewhat faded. Shows the expected age and use.  Has some slight staining (see photos).  in good salty condition and it’s very displayable and could be framed and it would look nice. Also included from the same group is a Japanese currency and 2 photo post cards with Japanese “Gisha Girl” photo taken from a Japanese solider with the other items.  100% Guaranteed to be authentic and is certified by The Gettysburg Museum Of History and comes with our Museum COA (certificate of authenticity).
