Original WWII German Luftwaffe 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger By Paul Weyersberg With Hanger and Porteppe Brought Home By A U.S. Veteran Certified. Very nice 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger is equipped with fine mounts. The pommel is the style with pebbled backgrounds and good oak leaves that surround the swastikas. The two swastikas retain some of the original gilding. The matching generic cross guard eagle retains good detailing. This bird is the style with a slight cantilever over top of the wings, which imparts a high-quality look and accents the dynamic look of the bird. The reverse panel has the large style pebbling and retains about 83% of the original gray finish. The ferrule matches nicely. The pommel is nice. The grip is of orange celluloid. This celluloid remains in good condition and has a pleasing tone. The grip is tightly wrapped with springy aluminum wire. The scabbard is a nice example that looks to have a nickel-plated surface. There is only the slightest of age to be seen on this scabbard and it still is in a excellent state. The bands match the scabbard plating.   The blade of the dagger is very fine, still being bright and retaining some of the original cross graining. It is maker marked to Paul Weyersberg.  It Has original set of very nice dagger hangers. And it’s original porteppe, the back has some wear but the front is excellent (see photos).  A nice-looking 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger, and one that definitely saw period wear but is still in good condition. Nice period used dagger captured by a U.S. Veteran and brought home as a war trophy. Nice used example showing the expected age and wear. 100% Guaranteed to be authentic Brought home by a solider as a trophy of war. A very desirable dagger in good condition an outstanding   example.
