Original GERMAN NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) 1st Pattern POLITICAL VISOR CAP COCKADE. (NSDAP Kokarde) Certified. Officially introduced in August of 1935, the cockade was worn on the front centerband of the Political Leaders visor cap. In 1939 a new regulation, added a gilt wreath around the cockade. First pattern political visor cap cockade is comprised of a fluted, black back plate, 22mm in diameter, upon which is mounted a 5mm tall, 18mm diameter, silver-aluminum double wreath with a similarly-colored mobile swastika to its center. Through the cut-out arms of the swastika may be seen a red felt backing to the interior. The silver-aluminum assembly is fixed by four extended tabs which pass through perforations of the back plate and are subsequently crimped.   Nice example showing the expected minor age and wear overall good condition.  In good but used condition.
